From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
PortixOS is a free operating system, that operates in 16-bit unreal mode and is designed for x86-compatible CPUs. PortixOS is written in Borland Pascal and in FASM (flat assembler) compiler. The development of PortixOS is led by Jozef Bogin jr., a 14 year old programmer.
PortixOS has only a command line at the moment, but it will have a GUI support too.
PortixOS can fit on a single, 1,44 MB floppy disk and PortixOS can even install onto CD-ROM. PortixOS has his own file system, especially designed for floppies - RSFS (Really Strong File System).
The OS has some built-in commands, like SETUP,TIME,DATE,HELP, etc., and RUN and FILEMAN are currently in development.
