Porter is a Mexican indie rock band based in Guadalajara, Mexico. Their music is between alternative, indie, and experimental.

Porter is: Juan Pablo aka "Chata" (Drums), Victor aka "Villor" (guitar, piano), Juan Carlos aka "Mussgo" (voice), Fernando aka "ffernand porter" (guitar) and Diego aka "Bacter" (bass, Synth, programmer).

Their sound consists in the mixture of electronic and acoustic drums, rock guitars, sound loops and Mussgo's distinctive femminoid voice and squeals. Their lyrics are a mixture between english and spanish.

Their major influences include Radiohead, Pixies, The Cure, Air, Sigur Rós, Brian Eno, Múm, The Flaming Lips, Röyksopp, M83, Café Tacuba, Zoé, Caifanes and others.

The band has two videos: Espiral and Daphne. Both videos have made a good reception in Mexican radio-stations and music video channels. Daphne, placed in the Telehit's Top Ten videos.

Porter was formed in May 2004, and the beginning, they were an instrumental band until Mussgo joined the band that year. Then recorded the EP called "Donde los Ponys Pastan", with 3er piso records, an Mexican indie record label. This EP was produced by Alejandro Pérez Orco (member of Azul Violeta) and includes seven songs like: No te encuentro, Girl, Daphne, Bipolar and their most famous song Espiral. There are also two instrumental songs in this EP called "Interlude" and "Interlude complicado" in which there are no vocals. Later that year, became into the semi-final in an indie rock bands contest called 0-music, with the song No te encuentro.

They recently performed in a rock en español music festival Vive Latino 2006 where they were acclaimed by thousands of fans.

They have two videos: Espiral and Daphne. Both videos, specially Daphne, placed in the Telehit's Top Ten videos.

On September 3, 2006, they opened The Strokes's concert at Arena VFG in Guadalajara.

On March 5, 2007, a new song was posted for an hour to their myspace page titled 'Host of a Ghost'. It was later revealed by a blog post from their record label that this would be the first single off the new album titled 'ATEMAHAWKE'. The new album has been given a release date of May 15, 2007.

Porter will perform in the 2007 Vive Latino festival, it has been confirmed that pre-orders for the new album will be available at the show.
