Port of Tilbury Police
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Port of Tilbury Police is a small, specialised police force responsible for policing the Port of London.
Officers of this force are sworn as constables under the Port of London Act. Jurisdiction for such constables is limited to the port area itself. However if such a constable is pursuing a person from the port area they maintain their powers of a constable for that purpose.
Any serious or major incidents or crimes become the responsibility of the local Home Office police force, Essex Police.
