The Port of Bristol Police is a very small, specialised police force responsible for policing the Port of Bristol estate.
Officers of this force are sworn as constables and have limited jurisdiction on port estate lands and the immeadiate surrounding area, up to mile from the boundary of port estates.
The force police the Avonmouth and Royal Edward Docks situated in Bristol and the Royal Portbury Dock situated in the district of North Somerset. Any serious incidents or major crime becomes the responsibility of the local Home Office police force, Avon and Somerset Constabulary.
