Pope's Creek

Popes Creek is a small tidal tributary stream of the Potomac River in Westmoreland County, Virginia. The George Washington Birthplace National Monument lies in Popes Creek's estuary.
PEPCO, the Potomac Electric Power Co. built a power generating plant in the 1960's at Morgantown, Md. at the mouth of Pope's creek. This is sometimes referred to the Pope's Creek Power Plant.
