There are two other known uses of the word "ponce".
Ponce (I'll have to check) possibly with an eacute at the end, was a composer of music for the guitar (amongst other things) - probably first name Emmanuel - again I'll have to check.
In UK English ponce is a rather pejorative term - "he was a ponce" - "he was poncing about" - I'll have to check against the dictionary. David Martland 08:32 Dec 5, 2002 (UTC)
- I believe the original meaning of the word is pimp. – Smyth\talk 15:52, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

- Yes, but this is very much not current usage. PeterBrett 21:48, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
yes, but wikipedia is not a dictionary...
- The composer's first name was Manuel - I've added a note on him. --Camembert
[edit] Pedro Rosselló
Former Gov. Pedro Rosselló was not born in Ponce, so I removed his name from the information. Thief12 23:07, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
Someone wrote some very NPOV commenta about Ponce, such as Pristine, unique, beautiful...hey I know Ponce is all that, been there 200 times, I started this article and I love Ponce....but does everyone else feel like me? lol
So we need to keep a NPOV watch on this page in case that person does come again.
Thanks and God bless you!
Sincerely yours, Antonio La Tetanic Martin
