Pony International

Pony International (commonly referred to as merely Pony) is an American brand of footwear and other apparel. Founded in 1972, Pony became one of the top athletic brands worldwide. By the mid-1980s, Pony's sales volume reached US$800 million. From 1996–2006, it was (at least in part) owned by Global Brand Marketing, Inc., a privately held company based in Santa Barbara, California. Global Brand Marketing acquired a majority share of Pony in 2003. Pony has recently been bought by Sharp Gain Profits Ltd.
Pony has a well-known chevron symbol which adorns most of its shoes and clothing.
Occasionally, professional athletes have popularized the brand, including Pelé, Darrell Dawkins, Earl Campbell, Tracy Austin, Willie Stargell, David Thompson, Sharif Khan, Larry Holmes, Leon Spinks, Georgia Chinaglia, the USFL, Dan Marino, Anne White, Lenny Dykstra, and Spud Webb.
Originally, Pony was known for producing athletic footwear. The company expanded its offerings to include sport apparel, and it has more recently produced streetwear. As a result, Pony has partnered with and been endorsed by non-athlete celebrities including Snoop Dogg, who in 2005 launched his "Doggybiscuitz" range. [1]
Pony also designed several football teams' kits in the 1990s, including teams such as West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspurs and Southampton F.C..
