Pony, Montana

Pony is a town in northeastern Madison County, Montana, on the eastern edge of the Tobacco Root Mountains. Pony is currently an unincorporated town with a population of about 100, although in the late nineteenth century it was a prosperous gold-mining community with at least 1,000 residents. A number of historic buildings from Pony's boom era remain in the old town today.
