Pontorson is a commune in the French department of Manche, in Normandy. Its most notable feature is that it contains the nearest SNCF railway station to France's second most popular tourist attraction, Mont Saint-Michel. It is thus a gateway to visiting the site for thousands of visitors each year. During tourist season it is a bustling small town, with a large number of hotels and tourist shops.

Pontorson is situated about 10 kilometres from the mount, to which it is connected by highway and a walking path along the river Couesnon. The river also gives its name to the town's main street.

Despite the town's role as a tourist gateway, train services are relatively rare - about three or four per day.
