The Pontiac G5 is a compact car introduced by Pontiac in 2004 for the 2005 model year. For 2005 and early 2006, this car was known as the Pontiac Pursuit in the Canadian market, and G5 Pursuit during mid-2006. It was also known as the Pontiac G4 in Mexico from 2005-2006. It was released to the U.S. market in August 2006 as a 2007 model.

The G5 is based upon the GM Delta platform along with the Chevrolet Cobalt, Chevrolet HHR, Saturn ION, and European Opel Astra. The vehicle is only available as a coupe. There is also a sedan version sold in Canada and Mexico.
