Ponteland United F.C.

Ponteland United F.C. is a football club based in the residential suburb of Ponteland in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England, with their ground at Ponteland Leisure Centre. They currently play in the Northern Alliance Premier Division. The club has finished runner-up on 12 occasions in three different competitions, but has never won anything, nor has it ever had a promotion (or relegation).

Ponteland joined the Northern Alliance in 1983, finishing in 9th place out of 14 in their first season. They played in the competition in every season up until 1988, when the Northern Alliance split into a three-division format. Since then, Ponteland have always remained in the Premier Division. Their highest league positions were in the 1996-97 and 1998-99 seasons, finishing 2nd both times. In 2005, they placed 9th out of 16.

They have also finished runners-up in the Northern Alliance Challenge Cup four times, in 1984-85, 1990-91, 1993-94, and 1997-98. Ponteland have been beaten finalists six times in the Northern Alliance Stan Seymour League Cup, including a run of four finals from 1991-95 (during which they lost against different opponents each time).

The club also competed in the F.A. Vase from 1985 to 1997, their best runs being to the 3rd Round in 1992-93 and 1993-94.
