Pomona Valley
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Pomona Valley, adjacent to the Inland Empire and San Gabriel Valley in California, straddles the border between Los Angeles County and San Bernardino County. Some residents consider the Pomona Valley to be a unique geographical area, independent of both. However, for statistical and economic development purposes, certain cities within the Pomona Valley can be either part of the San Gabriel Valley or the Inland Empire. Possible dividing lines separating the valley from the Inland Empire on the east include: the San Antonio River, the eastern border of the Watershed of the San Antonio River, and Interstate 15/Etiwanda Avenue. The Pomona Valley is separated from the San Gabriel Valley to the west by hills running approximately along California State Route 57.The valley lies south of the San Gabriel Mountains and north of the Chino Hills. The eastern portion is largely rural while the west ranges from older urban areas such as Pomona and Claremont to newer suburban areas. The historic Route 66 runs through the Pomona Valley.
