[edit] Association
Dear Alejandro: Hi. I wanted to ask you about a possible Hispanic wikipedians association here on the English wikipedia. The purpose would be to trade assignments with members of other Hispanic countries, so that they would write about a topic pertaining to our country while we write about a topic pertaining to theirs. Like a trade. We would benefit a lot by learning about our history as a whole and having other Latinos learn about our own countries at the same time.
That way also, we would promote unity between our paises hermanos. We could become an example to Hispanics around the world. Unfortunately, some Hispanics do believe we are not brothers, and we can begin with our example to prove them wrong.
What do you think, would you be interested in joining such an association?
Thanks and God bless you!
Your hermano in raza, Antonio El Torero de Madrid Martin

- Dear Alejandro: Hi! Thank you so much for your nice message on my talk page! It's awesome that you want to become a member of the association. Here is the link Wikipedia:Association of Hispanic and Latin American writers. The reason why we put Hispanic and Latin American writers is that we wanted both Spanish and Brazilian people to join. While Spanish people are Hispanic but not Latin Americans, Brazilians are viceversa, they are Latin Americans but not Hispanics! Anyways, just go there and write your name under the members list. Once you do that, someone will ask you to write an article about their country, and, to trade knowledge, you ask that person to write one related to Spain. That's the perfect way to unite as Hispanics and to learn more about our culture and expand the knowledge beyond our borders. Once again, thank you so much and God bless you! Sincerely yours, Antonio el rey de Puerto Rico Martin

Hello! According to your Babel do you speak English very well. Can you a translate a term please? I want to know, what is the term "Wasps and Relatives" translated to Catalan language? Thank you, very much, DocTaxon 12:06, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Cover_logicofviolence.jpg
Hello Poldavo. This is about The Logic of Violence in Civil War. I notice that the picture of the book cover has just been deleted from Commons because no Fair Use images are allowed in Commons. Though I can't trace the history of this image, I'm guessing you must have uploaded it to Commons originally. Does this mean you still have the JPG file? I understand that it can be uploaded under Fair Use to the English Wikipedia. That would be a way of restoring it to the article. Let me know if I can help. I'm not sure where to get a picture of the cover myself, except by trying to find it on a publisher's site. EdJohnston 03:20, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- Hello Poldavo. See note on my Talk page about this. I'll supplement that with another option. If you have the original JPG still, either of us could re-upload it as a Fair Use image to the English Wikipedia, but it could *not* be uploaded to Commons to be used across multiple languages. If you can take your own photo, it could be put in Commons with a GFDL license, which is the best option. Trying to get the author to release the publicity photo may not be worth the paperwork, because it probably belongs to the publisher anyway. EdJohnston 06:04, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
