Aleman stopped being president in 2002 and was sentenced to 20 years for fraud in 2003 - he was recently given some limited freedoms from the house arrest he is currently under to much controversey on both sides.

Trying to find consistent and accurate results for the percentage of votes cast in the 2001 elections isn't easy -- many of the secondary sources disagree, and some of them repeat the 1996 results as 2001 results. Somebody with access to better sources should check this. ArglebargleIV 14:40, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
