The Polyphagidae is a family of the Blattodea order (cockroaches). Many are known as sand cockroaches. The family is divided into three subfamilies: Polyphaginae, comprising the genera Arenivaga, Compsodes and Eremoblatta, Holocompsinae, containing the single genus Holocompsa, and the subfamily Euthyrrhaphinae, containing the genus Euthyrrhapha. One prominent species is the desert cockroach, Arenivaga investigata.
