Politics is a poem by W. B. Yeats. It was written during the time of the Spanish Civil War. It is featured on an album celebrating the poems of Yeats, where it is sung by Karl Wallinger.

In the first lines, the poet is astounded that he is thinking about politics whilst there is a girl in which he should be interested. He is thinking of the ongoing civil war in Spain, referencing the ideologies of the combatants, "roman" representing the Francoists, who were supported by the Catholic Church, "russian" representing the Popular Front, who were supported by the Soviet Union.
