Polbo á feira

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Polbo á feira (octopus at fair's style) is a traditional Galician dish made of boiled octopus served on wood plates and seasoned with olive oil and paprika. It is a very ancient and also popular dish due to the availability of dry octopus, along with cod, the only fish to be eaten in the inland country. Nowadays it is made with fresh or frozen octopus and the traditional wood plates are disappearing for hygiene. It is traditionally eaten simply with bread or potatoes.
