Can anyone please tell me if th anime special is an actual Japanese production, or if it's one of those 4Kids commissioned works created just for American viewers a la Yu-Gi-Oh: The Movie, or the second season of Ultimate Muscle?

Like The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon, this is produced by the same Japanese company, but distributed English-first (so like Mirage, it could be said that it is an English original and subsequently redubbed into Japanese). The voice cast uses the new voice cast, so it's pretty divorced from 4Kids Entertainment. kelvSYC 20:41, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Why is it that "Team Go-Getters" is made up of Squirtle, Charmander, and Chikorita? Shouldn't the grass-type member of the group be Bulbasaur to complete the original three?

Probably fears of gender discrimination - in the main anime, Squirtle, Charizard, and (Ash's) Bulbasaur are all portrayed as male. May's Bulbasaur is portrayed as female as a foil to Ash's Bulbasaur. On the other hand, the Chikorita line has been consistently portrayed as female (case in point: Ash's Bayleef, Casey's Meganium, etc).

Could someone put some more information in about evolution? Specifically, what do the items you give the voice do? Can they affect your Pokemon's stats as well as evolutionary path? Thanks! 199.44.94.100 03:19, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

No, items used in evolution don't affect stats -- basically, they all act like elemental stones from the main series. It's just that there's a wider range of items to simulate conditions that don't exist in this game. For instance, since you can't trade Pokemon in PMD, you use a Link Cable item to evolve Pokemon that would need to be traded; since there's no day and night, you use a Sun Ribbon or Lunar Ribbon to get Espeon and Umbreon. If your Pokemon only needs a certain level to evolve, offering items won't do anything.

How does it use the touch-screen? There's only a mention that you can use buttons and/or stylus, and everywhere else is noted that the two versions are almost identical... is the use of touch-screen limited to controls? At least some mini-games or something like this could be nice, otherwise it seems not so much as discrimination of GBA owners, as wasting DS's potential. 87.204.127.66 09:20, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Both versions are very similar. The touch screen control can mainly also be done with the buttons. Though it is extremely useful when rescuing Pokémon who move everytime you turn to face them... --Sonic Mew 18:35, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

The main advantage of the DS version is that you get the Y button. Otherwise they aren't much different. The real selling point for Blue is that it has Gyrados for me. --tjstrf 00:33, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Recruiting Kecleon outside of shoplifting

The article states that stealing from a Kecleon shop in a dungeon is the only way to recruit one on your team, however, I have heard that reaching Jirachi at the end of the Wish Cave with a Wish Stone(or something to that effect) would let you pick one of several wishes, one of which would result in a Pokemon joining your team. I have heard atleast one person state they got a Kecleon this way, rather then stealing from the shop and defeating the hordes of them.--69.175.56.3 08:22, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

How high does a pokemons I.Q. have to be for it to successfully evolve inluminus (or what ever it's called) cave? Because 10 stars seems like a lot.

It could be 4, 5, or 6 stars, depending on the Pokemon. Togepi, for example, is 6, while Eevee is only 4. -- 67.184.171.198 22:46, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Alakazam's Team" vs "Team A.C.T."

The two are interchangable. Team A.C.T. is the name given to Alakazam's team in the anime special based on the game, and that seems to be dotted around in this article. But the name A.C.T. isn't said in the game, so the connection is implicit based on the show. I went ahead and added the line about the A.C.T. in the introduction to Alakazam's team in the introduction, but how should we do this? [edit] Gardevoir vs. Gengar

Did Gardevoir help make the teleport gem, or did Gengar? I believe it was directly implied to be Gardevoir for the following reasons:

• Gardevoir is a psychic. The other two who helped were high level psychics.
• The Gardevoir in the game is a ghost. Not a ghost-type, but a ghost Pokemon in the sense of "the disembodied spirit of a Pokemon".
• Gengar is NOT a psychic.

If it's not Gardevoir, then we should simply leave the speculated to be x sentence out because speculation violates WP:NOR. --tjstrf talk 21:55, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Well nobody but the player can see Gardevoir. Plus after the gem creation, Alakazam said the guy ran off. It's almost certain that it's Gengar... I'd pull up the dialouge if I had one with me handy. Toastypk 03:05, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

I have no clue about the Legendaries thing. However, I am fairly certain that Lucario does not appear in the game, although he is mentioned. Raven23 02:59, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

I have all the legendaries on my team. Nothing happens aside from pages 3 and 4 of your adventure log being filled. And I'm pretty sure Lucario isn't in the game. You just get that statue of him to worship. Toastypk 14:49, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

What is the Red/Blue Dungeon room in the Makuhita Dojo? I read about it on Serebii.net. Do you fight Team ACT?

Alright-y. There's been a "bad plot" tag on the plot summary for a while now. I've done some cleaning up of the summary, but I think it could still use work. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix the plot summary? Raven23 07:07, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

So, do you have a suggestion on where we could move the paragraph about the Mankey and the completion of the rescue team base? It really doesn't belong in a section about battling Groudon, but completing the base is required for the plot to progress, so it should probably be included. I decided to add more game mechanic sections and I merged them into a whole section called "Gameplay and Mechanics". Further refining of the big section can be done if needed, but I don't wish it to look messy with a lot of subsections.

We've had the Pokemon Dungeon boxart on the table on the right there. Then someone suddenly removed it because of evil copyright laws or something. So we need to get a boxart picture back on. Toastypk 06:54, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Oh, that. Well, if it's a copyright law, I don't really see much we can do. But games like Ruby and Sapphire have boxart pictures in their articles, so if it's okay for those articles, it's okay for us, right? Raven23 03:22, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

In general, we cannot use copyrighted images on Wikipedia. In limited cases, however, we may. Please read Wikipedia:Fair use. The boxart of the game should have had a detailed fair use rationale to be kept on Wikipedia, as many boxart pictures do. --Kusunose 07:19, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

I personally find it hard to believe that Pokemon MD, a game released in 2005, could influence the Final Fantasy series which made its debut in 1987. Also, the information in this section is unsourced. I think the whole section should be removed. Bhamv 15:19, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
