Pointed Sticks
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pointed Sticks were a Canadian punk rock band from Vancouver, active from 1978 to 1981. They were the first Canadian band signed to Stiff Records, although the label was going through financial problems and never released an album by the band.
The band consisted of vocalist Nick Jones, guitarist Bill Nepier-Hemy, keyboardist Gord Nicholl, bassist Tony Bardach and drummer Ian Tiles. John Farano later joined on saxophone, Bardach was replaced by Scott Watson on bass, and Tiles was replaced by Ken "Dimwit" Montgomery.
The band released four singles before releasing their sole full-length album, Perfect Youth, in 1980. All of their material was rereleased in 1995 on the compilation Part of the Noise, and Perfect Youth and the live bootleg Waiting for the Real Thing were reissued in 2005 on Joe Keithley's Sudden Death Records. The original band members reunited in 2006 for a Japanese tour, and played reunion shows in Canada in late 2006 and early 2007.
