ACADEMICS:

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) (Chemistry) “National Physical Laboratory (CSIR)” in the area of “Studies on semiconducting polyaniline (PANI) nanocrystalline thin films for sensing application” 2006

Master of Science (M.Sc) (Chemistry) specialization in Organic from Agra University (U.P), India in 1997.

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) from Agra University (U.P), India in 1995.

DATE OF BIRTH: 19th August 1975 CITIZENSHIP: Indian

PRESENT POSITION HELD: Senior Research Fellow-CSIR, NPL, New Delhi-12, India

RESEARCH INTEREST:

· Polymeric thin film by vacuum deposition for gas sensors application, Plasma polymerization, thin film sensor · Synthesis of polyaniline, Copolymer of aniline-formaldehyde, thin films coating, Conjugated polymers

RESEARCH EXPERINECE: (From 1st September 2000 to till date)

Presently, I am engaged in the synthesis of polyaniline (PANI) and copolymer of aniline formaldehyde with different metal doping like Fe, Al, Cu, Mn to develop sensors for detection of toxic gases such as CO, HCl, NOx in environment in ppm level and microorganism (E. Coli) in water.

WORKED AS A PROJECT ASSISTANT Project I (1st September 2000 to 31st March 2005) “Polymeric Thin Film Sensors for Detection of Hazardous Gases and Microorganism in Environment” Sponsored by Ministry of environment and Forest. WORKING AS A SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (PROJECT LEADER) Project II (1st April 2005 to till date) “Synthesis of polymers with different doped metals and prepare thin films for detection of toxic gases in environment in ppm level” Sponsored by Council of scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi

SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION TECHNIQUES USED:

· We have synthesized of copolymer of aniline and formaldehyde with different metal doping using wet chemical route. · Thin films of synthesized material using vacuum thermal evaporation. · Thin films Characterization using sophisticated instruments like, I-V characteristic, UV-Visible spectroscopy, SEM, TGA, NIR, IR, and X-ray diffraction etc. · Very important roll of conducting polymeric thin films for Drug Delivery System

ACHIEVEMENTS:

We have developed semiconducting nanocrystalline polyaniline thin film sensors for the detection of hazardous gases like CO, HCl, NOx and microorganism (E. coli)

OTHER RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: (From 1st March 1998 to 31st August 2000)

Worked as Analyst & Chemist in “Indian Oil Corporation Limited”, New Delhi and Jagannath Dudadhar (Agent Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited), New Delhi for testing (QC) all aviation and non-aviation petroleum products and lubricants.

My duties were testing (QC) of petroleum products like Aviation and Non-aviation fuels and Lubricants like ATF, RTF, MTO, MS, HSD, SKO, HEXANE, NAPHTHA and all Lubricants.
