The Plymouth River Eels is a baseball team planned to start playing in May 2008. They will play Bay Colony Stadium in Plymouth, MA (currently being built).

To provide an opportunity for residents of the South Shore region to enjoy independent professional league and a multifunctional venue and its facilities.
[edit] Purpose
The purpose of the Bay Colony Baseball and Athletics, LLC is to create a multi- functional destination. This venue will consist of a unique Sports facility, state of the art banquet facility, and an office building. The anchor of this venue is a world class minor league baseball stadium and an independent minor league baseball team.
