Plonker is a mild pejorative term to describe someone as being idiotic or stupid. A person behaving in a silly, idiotic, stupid, careless, incoherent, or dismissive manner would be called a plonker.

  • The term is well-known for its use in the British television series Only Fools and Horses. The main character, called Del Boy, uses the term frequently (as "Rodney you plonker!") -in reference to his brother who is also his business partner.
  • In the police documentary series Girl Cops, PC Judith Walmsley OBE's eldest child Matthew Walmsley is called a plonker.
  • In the Christmas Special of the BBC series The Office, its main character David Brent proclaims: "I am not a plonker."
