PLM President Ramon Magsaysay School of Public Governance
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In pursuant of the Board Resolution No. 2522, the President Ramon Magsaysay School of Public Governance of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, one of the nine Graduate schools of the University, was founded on September 27, 2002 in honor of the late President's legacy of public service based on high ethical standards and advocacy of social justice.
The School is headed by a dean, and has a Council of Advisors and a Board of Visitors. With coordination with the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation, the School makes the public lecture series of Ramon Magsaysay awardees a tradition at the PLM. Corollary to these, the School brings the awardees of the Ramon Magsaysay Awards Foundation as mentors in the graduate school programs of the Greater Maeknong Sub-Region International Institute in Thailand.
In 2003, a reading center in honor of President Ramon Magsaysay was established at the School. It showcases the life and works of the late President and his ideals of honesty, integrity, and selfless service as exemplified to the youth by the Magsaysay Awardees.
