[edit] Synonymy of Pleurocoelus with Astrodon

Carpenter and Tidsell (2005) concluded that only one species of sauropod is present in Arundel Formation, Maryland, for which the correct name is Astrodon johnstoni Leidy, 1865. Therefore, Pleurocoelus is synonymous with Astrodon.
