The Pleasure Seekers was the name of a 1960's-era, girls-only garage band from Detroit, MI. Perhaps their most famous song is "What a Way to Die", it was featured in the cult film "Blood Orgy of the Leather Girls". "What a Way to Die" was their first recording. Later, on the Mercury Records label, was "Light of Love" and "Good Kind of Hurt", a single that received moderate airplay nationally. The group matured into a dynamic show band and, using Detroit as home base, toured the U.S.
The Pleasure Seekers was Suzi Quatro's first band. Pictured are (left to right) Arlene Quatro on keyboard and vocals, Suzi Quatro on bass and lead vocals, Eileen Biddlingmeier on rhythm guitar and vocals, Darline Arnone, drums and vocals, Patti Quatro on lead guitar and vocals.
The original band included Suzi and Patti Quatro, Nan (drums) and Mary Lou (guitar) Ball, and Dianne Baker, whose father was in Quatro's dads band, on piano. Later on Arlene Quatro replaced Dianne on the piano. Nan Ball played drums until late 1965 when Darline Arnone joined the band and stayed until late 1968. Arlene Quatro's husband, Leo Fenn, managed the band.
