Later this year, around late November or early December, Shaffer (Ne-Yo) will be releasing the first single off his new, and untitled album. Written by the artist himself, "Please, Don't Say It's Over," will center around a man, who has recently cheated on his girlfriend, with her best friend. According to an interview with the celebrity, the song will only be a preview to the album, which will debut around Christmas[citation needed]. When the album does hit shelves, a "remix" version of the song (along with a video) will be re-released as a single, which will feature Alicia Keys, who will play the part of the girlfriend, and Keyshia Cole, who will play the best friend. Shaffer claims that Alicia Keys will release an answer song when the remix comes out.

Also, Shaffer wants his son to be in the video when it is filmed. He will most likely play the part of the man and the girlfriend's child.
