Pleasant Prairie is a village in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 16,136 at the 2000 census.

It is a fast-growing village on Lake Michigan between Chicago and Milwaukee. As of 2004, it did not have sidewalks.

Pleasant Prairie is located at 42°32′20″N, 87°52′13″W (42.538820, -87.870229)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 87.0 km² (33.6 mi²). 86.6 km² (33.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it (0.39%) is water.

The television series That '70s Show is often thought to be set in the fictionalized form of this village. They refer to it as "Point Place, Wisconsin." In addition, there are many other local references -- for instance, a specific episode had them traveling to the "only drive in theatre in the state," which was not far away. The Keno Drive In Theatre, a classic drive-in, lies just on the border of the town.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 16,136 people, 5,819 households, and 4,393 families residing in the village. The population density was 186.3/km² (482.3/mi²). There were 6,050 housing units at an average density of 69.8/km² (180.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 94.08% White, 1.45% African American, 0.39% Native American, 1.38% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 1.03% from other races, and 1.64% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.37% of the population.

There were 5,819 households out of which 37.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.0% were married couples living together, 6.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.5% were non-families. 19.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.73 and the average family size was 3.15.

In the village the population was spread out with 27.2% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 31.3% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 10.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 98.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.7 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $62,856, and the median income for a family was $71,452. Males had a median income of $50,477 versus $30,293 for females. The per capita income for the village was $26,087. About 3.0% of families and 3.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 2.6% of those under age 18 and 5.1% of those age 65 or over.
