I think there should be a more detailed explanation about the two formulas given for calculation of plasma osmolality. The text is written in such a way that the reader is lead to believe the difference between the two formulas is just a mater of units, and that is not the case! Some remark should be made about the validity of droping the potassium concentration from the osmolality calculation Why is it no dropped in the first equation ?...
