[edit] Redirect from "Burning Plains"

When the redirect was put in place, the page Talk:Burning Plains was left behind, with content (follow that link for the history):

[edit] Elvish name

If anyone can verify the spelling of its elvish name as Du Völlar Eldrvarya, maybe it should be added to the stub. -- Byakuren 23:57, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
Go right ahead. íslenskur fellibylur #12 (samtal) 01:25, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] move Burning Plains to Burning Plains (Inheritance trilogy)

This article should be renamed. "Burning Plains" is a feature in a multitude of fantasy worlds. 132.205.44.134 01:34, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion

Yea, I think we should do it. I'll just make sure Trilogy is capitalized. íslenskur fellibylur #12 (samtal) 11:52, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Consensus Conclusion

[edit] Dissolve

This has probably been suggested before, but Many of these places already posess independant articles. I personally created the article for Kuasta, and have contributed to the ones for Teirm. All of the locatins mentioned in the article are better suited for export, but in order for them to be functional, more links need to be created.--Whytecypress 23:49, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merge

I'm thinking the opposite-- we really don't need a whole bunch of extremely short pages (because all but a few places have very little info-- look at the Burning Plains, for instance!) when we can put together this nice, organized list. We really need to condense everything into this page, and then redirect links so that they point to its different sections. Kith 20:39, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Okay, well, I'm going to go ahead and do it now. There are four new articles based on the four main political divisions of Alagaesia: the Empire, Du Weldenvarden (which I took to be about equivalent to the elves' territory-- is it?), the Dwarf Kingdom (similarly, is this analogous enough to the Beor Mountains?), and Surda. Kuasta is soon to be merged into the Empire page. Any suggestions on better article titles, general information for the Empire, and general cleanup are more than welcome! Thank you! [edit] List of Notable Residents of Carvahall

My main beef with this part is that most of the residents are not in the least notable. Other than that, has any kind of character page been made? I think this list would do better there, but I'd like to hear others' opinions. Kith 20:37, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Moved to List_of_characters_in_the_Inheritance_Trilogy. Cleanup still needed! Kith 22:33, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion moved from Kuasta

[edit] Merge

This is short, and there isn't much more (if anything at all...) that can be added. I propose a merge to Places in the Inheritance trilogy. Kith 20:47, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

I see your point. However, Places in the Inheritance trilogy is becoming a cram zone. I beleive that the sections should be exprted when large enough. But for now, It should be moved. But maybe to a different location, like Minor Places In Inheritance with other such articles.--Whytecypress 13:42, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Fair enough, and good idea. Any idea how else we could divide the page up? Chronologically? Geographically? (Dividing the map into four quadrants occurs to me, but I'm not entirely sure that makes sense in terms of finding things.) The difference between a major and minor place can occasionally be subjective. Kith 02:18, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Geographically is good for finding things, but how about by Geographic Region instead? we could group it by Empire, Beors/Dwarves (Dwarf Kingdom might be better bacause it can incluse Hedarth. Hedarth can't go anywhere else because it's the only settlement on the Eastern Plains.), Elf Kingdom and Surda. That's a bit rough though.
I suppose we could make define minor as mentioned less than x times in the book or something like that, like on Memory Alpha. But again, that's a trid rough--69.141.214.53 20:26, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
I like your divisions. As long as the actual name of the article isn't "Minor Places," there shouldn't be much trouble about that. Can always put in about a paragraph (or whatever) for each specific name or city, including the ones with larger articles along with a link to the original article. As to how to phrase the article titles...
Places in the Empire (Inheritance)
Places in the Dwarf Kingdom (Inheritance)
Places in the Elf Kingdom (Inheritance)
Places in Surda (Inheritance)
These feel slightly iffy to me, but I'll go ahead and create them right now anyway-- can always be moved. Excellent! Kith 21:42, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
Good! We can always move/rename them later. Thanks for collaborating!--Whytecypress 02:35, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
