[edit] History

Plaza Isabela opened its doors in 1994. In 2005 the shopping center was acquired by Developers Diversified Realty Corporation (DDR), company that currently owns the center.

In 2007, Pueblo Supermarkets announce a restructuration of their company to maximize profit. This led to the closure of Pueblo Supermarket in Plaza Isabela. The closure was caused by the inavility of Pueblo to compete with giant rival, Wal-Mart. Pueblo's location is currently being used by Super Coop, a supermarket own and operated by the local community bank, Cooperativa de Ahorro y Credito de Isabela.

[edit] Today

Plaza Isabela is the third largest and busiest shopping center in the region. The mall consists of a total of 40 tenants, 6 movie theaters, Ponderosa, and 4 fast food restaurants. It is anchored by Wal-Mart and Super Coop.
