Player/Stage Project

The Player/Stage Project is an international effort to produce Free Software tools for robotics research and development. Player (software) is a robot interface and is used in research and education.

The project consists of three main components:

  • The Player robot server specification and implementation
  • The Stage robot simulator
  • The Gazebo robot simulator

The Player/Stage Project was founded and is maintained by Brian Gerkey, Richard Vaughan and Andrew Howard.
