Plastic Eaters were formed in Philadelphia in early 1996 as a creative venture between Stan Stammers and vocalist Rob Daly. Stammers maybe remembered as bass player with influential British bands Theatre of Hate and later Spear of Destiny. James Atkin the lead singer from EMF and an old friend of Stan's was originally approached to sing for the band, but unfortunately it didn't transpire. While some called their sound "old school punk with modern techno flourishes" and others referred to it as simply "jungle-punk", Plastic Eaters were more appropriately identified as a hybrid punk rock band. The band regularly used samples, loops and even DJ's to enhance their popular sound.

Between 1996 and 2004 the Eater's regularly played throughout Philly, NYC and New Jersey, with the occasional detour to LA. Not satisfied with recording, producing and releasing their own material they also recorded, produced and re-mixed other artists too, which include Pretty Poison, Josh Wink, Ani DiFranco, D Generation, Rocket from the Crypt, and Incognegro.

Plastic Eaters were also known for their 35mm short film ".357-11" which quickly earned the band a grass-roots cult following, as bootleg copies found their way into the VCRs and DVD players of skateboarders, tattoo artists, and tour buses. Written and directed by Robdaly, the film stars Robdaly, Stan Stammers and Sean Money in acting roles and features wall to wall Plastic Eaters' music. The short has been screened at film festivals ranging from TromaDance and The LA International Short Film Festival, to The NY International Film Festival.
