Plaridel is a 4th class municipality in the province of Misamis Occidental, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 29,279 people in 6,423 households.

Plaridel became a municipality in 1907. Its original name was Langaran, after the river which drains along its shorelines. The town is accessible from Manila by air via the Dipolog airport which is only 58 km away. Plaridel also has a harbor in Looc that is very well sheltered from strong winds. A passenger boat travels to Cebu twice a week. This boat unloads and takes in passengers in Siquijot and Tagbilaran, Bohol. Daily boat service to Cebu is available in the port of Ozamiz City about 60 km to the south.

Coconut and rice are the town's main crops. Municipal fisheries produces more than enough fish for its needs.
