[edit] Gameplay

The game features stylus-based touch-screen controls, and is designed to be played with the Nintendo DS unit in the sideways "book-style" orientation.[1]

[edit] Single player

Planet Puzzle League features the Endless,[2], Stage Clear,[3] Vs. CPU, and Puzzle[4] modes of previous games in the Puzzle League series, such as Tetris Attack, as well as a new "mission" mode.[5][6]

A new feature in Planet Puzzle League is the addition of a variety of background and panel designs in Vs. CPU Mode that vary by stage.[7]

[edit] Multiplayer

Planet Puzzle League also supports four-player simultaneous gameplay via local wireless, as well as through Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, complete with voice chat.[8] The game also introduces the option of "items" in multiplayer Vs. Mode matches than can affect the competition.[9] Items are optional; players can elect to play traditional Vs. Mode matches that do not feature items.[10]
