Planet Internet

Planet Internet is one of the largest internet service providers (ISPs) in the Netherlands. Planet Internet is a brand of the Planet Media Group, which is a subsidiairy of KPN.

Planet Internet started in 1995 with offering internet access and content. In 1997 there was a merger with World Access (that also was founded in 1995). In 1999 the provider 'World Access/Planet Internet' changes its name into 'Planet Internet', and from then on the parent company 'Videotex Nederland NV' is called 'Planet Media Group NV'. In 1999 the KPN-service Het Net becomes part of the Planet Media Group.

Independent from the Dutch company, there has been a Belgian provider operating under the name 'Planet Internet Belgiƫ'. Early 2003, this company was sold by KPN to Scarlet.
