Planet Hollywood Las Vegas is a casino resort at 3667 Las Vegas Boulevard South, the location of the Aladdin, Las Vegas. Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide is rebranding the hotel as a Sheraton Hotel and will operate the hotel portion of the project. Planet Hollywood will rebrand and operate the rest of the property under their name. The rebranding and extensive renovations were scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2006, but the renovations have since been mired in delays.
The property is owned by ObBiz which is a partnership of Robert Earl, Bay Harbour Management and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
Renovations are being carried out in stages, allowing the resort to remain open throughout. Planet Hollywood Las Vegas will include an expanded casino, new restaurant, new nightclub and retail space. A redesign of the facade and pedestrian plaza is intended to correct defects that made accessing the property from the sidewalks on The Strip difficult.
It has been announced that the attached Mediterranean-themed shopping mall, the Desert Passage, will also be updated to reflect the resort's new Los Angeles theme, and will be renamed "Miracle Mile" [1].

The Planet Hollywood Las Vegas was originally opened in 1963 as the Tally-Ho. It was later called King's Crown in 1964. In 1966, the King's Crown was purchased, and after major renovations was reopened and renamed the Aladdin Hotel.
On June 20, 2003, a partnership of Planet Hollywood and Starwood Hotels purchased the Aladdin, which was in bankruptcy.
On April 12, 2004, Planet Hollywood and Westgate Resorts announced plans to add a 52 story time share to the site. The building will contain 800 two-bedroom suites that, while unsold, will be available to the Sheraton hotel. The time share building will be connected to the existing complex at the performing arts theater and the mall.
