[edit] Overview
The entire environment, called Planet CCRMA, was developed and tested at Stanford University and made freely-available to the public from a central repository — Planet CCRMA at Home [1]
The packages, once installed, transform the Linux kernel using the ALSA soundcard drivers and other applications into a low-latency workstation or server for sound and video production and distribution.
[edit] Recent development
The group fedora-music-list at redhat opened April 2006 with the ultimate aims of bringing the ccrma packages to fedora extras. A prelinary yum repository for FC5 is available.
