PlanetOut Inc., a public company, is the leading global media and entertainment company exclusively serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. It operates several LGBT-themed web sites including Gay.com and PlanetOut.com, and in November 2005 acquired LPI Media, the publisher of The Advocate, Out Magazine, HIV Plus, and Alyson Books, as well as Specialty Publications which maintains the nation's three largest gay adult titles including Men, [2], Unzipped, and Freshmen.
