Plaisance, Quebec

Plaisance is a village located in the Regional County Municipality of Papineau in western Quebec. The village is situated on the Ottawa River near the mouth of the Petite-Nation River, 70 km from Gatineau and 160 km from Montreal on Highway 148.

The village is well known for its falls located just north of town. There is also a large bird reserve near the main highway as well as a local cheese factory which was previously quite popular in the Outaouais Region.

According to the 2001 Statistics Canada Census:

  • Density (persons per km².): 32.7
