Plainfield North High School, or PNHS, is a public four-year high school located in Plainfield, Illinois, a southwest suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is part of Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202, which also includes Plainfield Central High School, and Plainfield South High School.

Plainfield North was the third high school to be built in Plainfield, Illinois. It opened in the beginning of the 2005-06 school year for only incoming freshman and sophomores. It will gradually add juniors and seniors and become a four year high school for the 2007-08 school year.

Plainfield North will begin ACT testing in April 2007, and test results along with the Illinois School Report Card will be available shortly thereafter. Plainfield North will graduate its first class in 2008, upon which graduation rates will be made available.

[edit] Athletics

Plainfield North competes in the Southwest Prairie Conference and Illinois High School Association. Its mascot is the White Tiger. The school's football program (including the head coach, assistant coaches and principal) were sanctioned for violations of Illinois High School Association by-laws in September 2006.[1] The girls volleyball team won the school's first confrance championship in the fall of 2006.

List of bands: Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Jazz combo, Pit Orchestra, Pep Band, and Marching Band.

The marching band began their first year of competition in 2006, and started out with 1st place in the AA High Schools Division at the 2006 Morris Corn Festival.[1] They received an award for best percussion in the parade section of the Metamora marching band competition 2006.[2]
