Placostylus ambagiosus whareana is a large rare terrestrial gastropod mollusc in the family Bulimulidae, endemic to the North Cape, New Zealand area in Northland in the North Island of New Zealand. It is found at Whareana, between Waikuku Beach and Parengarenga Heads, in mixed forest.
The shell is large and heavy, with all apertural processes, except the parietal tubercle, well developed. The coloration is as in Placostylus ambagiosus annectens.
This species is evidently the descendant of the subfossil Placostylus ambagiosus gardneri.
Height is up to 83 mm, and width up to 35 mm.
Placostylus ambagiosus whareana is classified by the New Zealand Department of Conservation as being Nationally Critical.
