Placostylus ambagiosus ambagiosus is a large rare terrestrial gastropod mollusc in the family Bulimulidae, endemic to Northland in the North Island of New Zealand. It is found off Cape Maria van Diemen on Motuopao Island, around the roots of flax bushes.

The periostracum is yellowish-chestnut and the interior of the aperture is salmon-orange.

Height is up to 78 mm, and width up to 35 mm.

Placostylus ambagiosus ambagiosus is classified by the New Zealand Department of Conservation as being Nationally Critical.
