[edit] Template Bug

Sometimes, articles with the planetmath template do not appear here.

One 29 July 2005, Googlpl noted:

I've found out that when one writes:
{{planetmath | id=4021|title=Apéry's constant}}
instead of:
{{planetmath|id=4021|title=Apéry's constant}}
(without space) the problem vanishes.

Thanks, Googlpl. linas 00:02, 26 August 2005 (UTC)

That's an example of the regression fallacy, I'm afraid.  :) The actual problem was that adding/removing a category to/from a template wouldn't cause pages including the template to gain/lose the category until the including page is edited. Editing the page to include spaces would fix it; so would editing it to fix a typo, or anything else. Now adding categories to templates does eventually recategorize including pages automatically, but not right away (see m:Help:Job queue, and thank brion for the tip).

In the future, file bugs at Mediazilla: so they can be dealt with. In this case, I filed Mediazilla:6389 and was corrected in one minute. —Simetrical (talk • contribs) 01:59, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
