PIX (originally short for Performance Investigator for Xbox) is a performance analysis tool from Microsoft that can help software developers maximize the efficiency of Direct3D applications. Originally for the Xbox video game console, Microsoft has released it for the Windows platform as part of XNA to aid game developers.
