Pittsburgh Forge

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In 2001 Kevin Constantine, a former coach of the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins, founded the North American Hockey League's Pittsburgh Forge, a hockey team in the NAHL. The team compiled an 80-24-8 record in the first two seasons. As the team's general manager and co-coach, Kevin Constantine helped build the Forge into a national power. The Forge finished their first season becoming the first expansion team ever to make the national tournament where they finished as runners-up. In the second season, the Forge set a national Junior A record with 43 wins and won the NAHL's regular season championship. In two seasons with the Forge, Kevin's clubs amassed an overall record of 80-24-8 and advanced 18 players onto scholarships with Division I college hockey programs.
