Someone please confirm citing Also Sprach Zarathustra for Nietzsche saying that within a society people are expected to act civil and nice to each other, but then as a society they express their Will to Power by conducting the same manipulation and warfare towards other societies which they have suppressed in their individual selves. I know I read it as an etext English translation on Project Gutenberg in 2003, if that narrows down the list of possible Nietzsche works.
- As of August 2005 there are still only Also Sprach Zarathustra and Beyond Good and Evil in English on Project Gutenberg. A quick search for "society" and context shows i was probably thinking of this, and I have reflected the change in the article.
