Piratininga

Coordinates: 22°24′46″S, 49°08′05″W Piratininga is a municipality (município) in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. The population in 2004 is 11,060 and the area is 398.28 km². The elevation is 516 m. The place name comes from the Tupi language and is the place where the first western settlements that grew to become São Paulo was located.
