Pirates Vikings and Knights II is a total conversion mod and a sequel to the popular Pirates Vikings and Knights. The mod is based on the Source Engine developed by Valve Corporation for the PC game Half Life 2. Pirates Vikings and Knights II is a multiplayer only game where 3 teams - the pirates, the knights and the vikings - compete against one another.

The game features similar team based gameplay to the original, but developers are planning on adding an additional three new classes per team, doubling the original's figure.

A beta of PVK II was released on January 1, 2007.

[edit] Classes (Beta 1.1)

Pirates

Skirmisher

Cutlass - Short cutting sword with moderate damage and fast attack. Flintlock Pistols - Each pirate carries 6 single shot pistols dealing moderate damage. They fire relatively fast but take a long time to reload due to their large number. Powder Keg - Each pirate is equipped with a barrel full of gunpowder. When lit the fuse burns down and the keg explodes dealing massive amounts of damage to all in the immediate area. They can be thrown towards the enemy.

Knights

Heavy Knight

Sword and Shield - The sword, while shorter than the great sword (see below), is faster, but only deals moderate damage. The shield can also be used as a weapon by bashing the enemy using alternate fire. It provides some of the best protection in the game. Crossbow - Ranged weapon dealing heavy damage to make up for the long reload time. Alternate fire aims down the barrel, making for more accurate shooting. Great Sword - Massive two handed broadsword which deals heavy damage at a fair range due to its great length. The downside to this weapon is the time it takes to begin a new attack.

Vikings

Beserker

Two-Handed Bearded Axe - Large axe which deals heavy damage with each of its medium/slow attacks. Similar in many respects to the Great Sword. Dual wield - Uses both a short sword and an axe. Both are swung in quick succession effectively putting up a "wall of steel" in front of the enemy.
