[edit] Additions for this page
1) The council's website: http://www.prsc.qld.gov.au/
2) The Shire is bounded by the following shires:
Brisbane City (South) Caboolture (North) Esk(West) Redcliffe (East)
3) The council headquarters is in Strathpine.
4) A list of suburbs within the Shire may be a bit superflous, but easy to find.
5) The shire has two of Brisbane's water supplies, Lake Samsonvale (North Pine Dam) and Lake Kurwongbah (unsure spelling)

- Images! photos, council logo, maps.
- make sure suburb list is exhaustive.

Mayors Lists are hard work, Wikipedia may be the only place some of this stuff ends up. I'll be in Brissy in a couple of weeks and will try to cruise up to Pine Rivers for a look-see.
My interest is that a previous Shire Chairman was an uncle of my wife.

[edit] Strathpine, Queensland
I think it is necessary that Strathpine Should Have its own article. I would be willing to write it, if their are no objections. Nicko6 03:19, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

The result of the debate was No move, see below. Duja► 09:22, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Pine Rivers Shire Council → Pine Rivers Shire, Queensland — The page was recently moved the other way, as I believe a misapplication of a guideline that all Australian LGAs should go at their official name. Some LGAs in NSW, for example Manly Council, have the word "Council" in them, but that is not the case in Queensland; the LGA is a Shire, and "Council" is used to refer to the governing body only. - Support as nom. I've never heard the word "Council" used for a LGA in Queensland, and indeed it's not referred to as such in the article. FiggyBee 07:38, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- Comment - someone did this: moved Pine Rivers Shire, Queensland to Pine Rivers Shire Council: To comply with WP:Australia places consensus on naming LGAs) Patstuarttalk|edits 19:42, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

- Comment; note that this article is about the Shire in general, not about the actual governing council (as the article Brisbane City Council is). FiggyBee 07:54, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Closure comment
As a closing admin, I share the sentiment and arguments of the proposal. However, all pages in Category:Local Government Areas of Queensland are at "Foo Shire Council" so IMO they should be all renamed to Foo Shire, Queensland. Thus, a broader incentive is called for. (See WP:RM#Multiple page moves).
Incidentally, similar error was present for long time in my home country, and cleared up only recently: the bureaucratic phrase "skupština opštine" (municipal assembly) got so widespread that ugly phrases like "Territory of Municipal Assembly" became ubiquitous instead of plain vanilla "municipality".
