Pinehesy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pinehsey, or Panehasy depending on different transliteration was Viceroy of Kush[1] during the reign of Ramesses XI, the last king of the egyptian 20th Dynasty.

His career started with the suppresion and then removal of the High Priest of Amun in Karnak, Thebes, Amenhotep, who was sent into exile. Pinehesy extended his influence into much of the south of Egypt, but was opposed by the new High Priest of Amun, Herihor, and was driven back into Nubia.
